The EMP Museum in Seattle, WA holds an annual Halloween dance party called the 'Fashionably Undead Bash.' 2013's theme was David Bowie focused. The one-sentence design brief was something along the lines of 'Fashionably Undead Bash in space featuring David Bowie as Aladdin Sane.' It came to life as David Bowie as a Aladdin Sane as a vampire in space. The geometric shapes are a nod to the original art for The Man Who Fell to Earth. The type is derivative of 70s poster and album art (specifically The Band's Moondog Matinee). The design showed up in multiple marketing materials: poster, handbills, plasma screens, etc.
