In October 2014, EMP Museum in Seattle opened the exhibit We Are 12: The Seattle Seahawks and the Road to Victory. The exhibit surveys the history of the Seahawks, while focusing heavily on the recent success of the franchise, including, but not limited to, the coaching philosophy of Pete Carroll and the contribution of the Seahawks fans (the 12s) to the team's success.
The chief design inspiration pulled heavily from several aspects of American football: offensive and defensive play diagrams, field yard markers, first down markers and the structure of football stadiums. The football play diagrams made their way most explicitly into the layout and organization of the timeline wall. The structure of the underside of football stadiums informed the material use of concrete and steel as well as the concrete treatment applied to artifact casework.
Exhibit run: October 2014 – Indefinite
